God Tipped America to Its Side and All the Nuts Rolled Over to California.

Someone once said that God tipped America to its side and all the nuts rolled over to California. I arrived here from the western shores of the Pacific so I'm not sure I fit in that group; although, I don't mind being in their company especially with those who carry “woo woo” in their blood. People with a metaphysical leaning in their beliefs seem so colorful and intriguing and I find myself being pulled to their podcasts and YouTube shows that delve into the mystical and intuitive aspects of our being. They have helped me deal with stuck issues and dilemmas in my life and it augments and strengthens rather than diminish my connection to God and Christ Consciousness.

Aside from glorifying God and working towards a Christian view of salvation on Earth as being the purpose of life, some espouse a more matter of fact reason for being as " we are here simply because we wanted to experience life in all its facets both positive or negative for our soul expansion and growth and that is all". It answers, "why do bad things happen to good people, why do good things happen to bad people; why do some come into being with severe physical or intellectual disabilities? " Because our souls wanted to have that experience for our soul expansion.  Period.  That's all.  No debate into theology or spiritual hocus pocus.  We just wanted to experience life on this Earth as it is. As simplistic as it sounds, it satisfies my need to know the never-ending questions of "why" and spares me time wasted ruminating and justifying and overthinking about meanings.  The only issue I have with it is that it is very hard to use it as justification for very deep suffering and injustice. My small human mind still cannot come to terms with it.

My summer garden is flourishing so well and has produced 4 honeydews, holy basil, tomatoes, numerous cucumbers just from one tiny seed, sunflowers, oranges, blackberries, avocadoes, cosmos and my favorite flower, sweet peas.  An interesting phenomenon I've noticed in the garden is how my tall sunflower with his heavy and strong trunk, rather than growing straight up, has leaned way to the side to accommodate the growing sweet pea bush and this phenomenon has made me a bit philosophical about the nature of life, the power of our thoughts and how we manifest and influence events in our lives.  I've gardened long enough to know that plants respond to my thoughts and respond to the love and care I show them.  I've once had a giant squash grow exactly at the location I wanted. This year is the first I've actually been successful with sweet pea blooms in over a decade. The climate has been too hot for its growth here, but I've learned to sow the seeds early in winter when it is still very cool for earlier blooms.  The sunflower, a volunteer, happened to be growing right near the sweet pea bush potentially overshadowing and preventing sunlight from reaching them.  I've thought about pulling the sunflower out to prevent this from happening, but I still wanted to get come sunflower cutting this year and decided against cutting it down.  My thoughts must have been communicated to the sunflower because as you can see below, it bent its stalk all the way to the concrete practically growing horizonal so that the sweet pea can have more room to expand.  Had I wanted the sunflower to grow tall and hoped the sweet peas would not impede its growth, would the sweet peas have deferred to the sunflower?  Was there a mutual agreement between the sunflower and the sweet peas for a happy arrangement where both can thrive?

My sunflower is growing horizontally to accommodate the sweet peas near the wall.

Manifestation coaches believe that manifesting events in our lives operate in similar ways.  What we focus on tends to grow stronger.  If we focus on the negative, we attract more negativity into our lives.  If we focus on what is positive, then those thoughts supersede and the universe responds in like by lining up the conditions for our desires to manifest. Feel the desired emotions of a dream come true before the dream has even happened.

Same could be said for quantum mechanics and the theory that how one defines a quantum phenomenon is heavily influenced by how one chooses to observe and measure it.  Is it a frequency? Or does it have mass?  It's all relative to the instruments we use and what we wish to observe that determines the outcome.

What is the lens you are using to see the world?

So how did I manifest Luki, a child with intellectual disability, autism and GDD (global developmental disability) on the DSM-5?  Because back in my early twenties before I even met my husband, I told God I wanted to experience the highest expression of love with a beautiful, evolved soul. I never dictated how this was to happen, but the prayer was heard and remembered until the timing was right.

And what a beautiful and intense journey it has been so far.

Dup15q Syndrome and Respiratory Distress

A famous children's praise leader came to dedicate her life to serving children after two of hers died as a result of a car accident in which she was the driver.  On her way to church, she ran a red light as she was distracted by the children in the rear.  As a result, Jana Alayra's's car was totaled and while she escaped the accident unscathed, her two children in the backseats lost their lives. After the tragedy she came to devote her life to bringing joy and the Gospel to children and holds concerts all over the country as well as maintain popular YouTube videos.

Julie Cluff was a devout Mormon who fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed her car killing both her children in the back.  As a result of her actions, she lived with extreme depression and guilt for many years.  The trauma was so severe that her third eye blew wide open and she found that she could no longer uphold her Mormon faith as it was not aligned with beliefs that were being revealed to her.  She developed supernatural abilities to heal people, developed mediumship abilities and became an open channel for the wisdom of celestial beings who guide and heal humanity.

Trauma has a way of either bringing one closer to one's faith or have to completely abandon it.

A mother of 3, one with Dup15q Syndrome, advocated and invested so much of her time and effort for the sake of her special needs child and the community of families who shared the same syndrome only to have her neurotypical child succumb to cancer and pass away.

Isn't life sometimes so unfair to have the unthinkable happen to good people?

Death from SUDEP is a real concern especially for Lucas who continue to have nighttime seizures but more concerning than SUDEP I recently found is respiratory illnesses. A day after his 15th birthday, Luki had to be hospitalized for almost a week for the first time in his life due to having contracted mycoplasma pneumoniae, also known as the "walking pneumonia". What scared me the most was not the high fever, lethargy and poor appetite but his inability to effectively clear his mucous since his cough is not as strong as most people, perhaps due to his hypotonia and a weak diaphragm.  I'm not sure if that is the reason but that is my hunch since I contracted the same bug as he but was able to cough up the gunk which helped me feel better. It was hard to see him struggling to breathe and unable to clear his lungs because I knew firsthand how thick and suffocating it was and not being able to clear it would have driven me up the wall.  But Lucas being Lucas, never complains not just because he is nonverbal, but because he has never become aggressive when he gets frustrated. It's just not in his nature.

We took him to the ER and when his oxygen saturation dipped to the 80's and 70's and his heart rate ran up to 160's the doctor decided to admit him.  He received chest physiotherapy and lots of IV fluids as well as the broad spectrum antibiotics and eventually honed to  Zithromax, which they said was specific for the type of bug he caught.  It is scary to see someone, let alone your child, gasping for air unable to breathe as the pulse oximeter loudly alarms.  The Angelman Syndrome published a study on the main cause of mortality (click to see study)  among their children and number one on the list was not complications from seizures or SUDEP but respiratory distress.  Having just learned that fact a few months ago alerted me to the urgency of the situation.  I would have otherwise had him rest it out at home; after all, I'm a nurse and could confidently take care of his medical needs but that paper made me jump to action earlier than I would have had I not read it sooner and learned of the higher risk of mortality involved with respiratory issues.  I've found many other parents of Dupers have also experienced hospitalizations from respiratory illnesses and seem to understand how serious it can get. This hospitalization and our early intervention were a direct result of published  research made available to parents who can be made aware of the dangers of this syndrome and promptly act on their knowledge.  One mother of a 25-year-old son with Dup15q Synrome shared that her son has been hospitalized multiple times with aspiration pneumonia and has a permanent G tube placed for all feedings and is allowed no food by mouth for the rest of his life because of it.  His feedings are given by a pump on a hospital bed, and he gets frailer and weaker with each bout of illness.  Someone needs to do a study and publish a paper on the risk of respiratory illnesses/distress on Dup15q Syndrome and include it as part of their standard of care, as well.

There are a handful of Dup 15q children who have passed away with the official diagnosis of pneumonia or respiratory distress on their death certificate.

With early and proper medical attention, Lucas is back to being his happy self now.  He must be cleared now as he doesn't cough but I wonder if that is true because I still have a lingering cough which hasn't gone away even after almost a month.  His appetite isn't what it used to be so maybe he isn't 100%, yet.  It was a bad infection to go through, but I am grateful I had it at the same time as he did so I can compare and contrast how a typical person responds to it versus how someone with Dup15 Syndrome endures it.

The respiratory therapist made us a home chest physiotherapy tool out of
a mask from an Ambu bag and a tongue depressor. Machines that do the same job can
cost thousands of dollars.

Luki and the fam!  He is back to enjoying life.  Here he
is on our 4th of July picnic at the park.
